fuel door stuck
So I got about 51dt left on the car, go to fill up today. Hit the button, and the damn door won't open. What the? Anyone know how to fix it? It's cold outside, but it's not that cold (I think it was like 30c).
What does that have to do with anything ?
Are you suggesting to use the key to pry it open ?
I would put pressure on the gas door by the latch and have some one hit the release button several times really fast. Make sure you aren't pushing on the door when they hit the button.

maybe it was coincidence. I don't know, seems more reasonable than holding the fuel door down while someone else presses the button, but making sure not to hold the fuel door down when they press the button...

I hit the button initially, then I tried holding it. Nothing worked. I got a feeling the dealership screwed something up last time I brought it in (haven't filled up since). I brought it in for oil mark off + excessive fuel consumption.
took it to the dealer. Apparently there was a problem between my stock alarm and the compustar I had installed way back. I think the last time I took it to the dealer they somehow re-armed the stock one (haven't filled up since) causing it to lock the fuel door. Compustar unlocked and started the doors just fine though, so I don't get it.
My fuel door latch would barely release when pressing the release button. I found the cause was poor alignment between the latch and the door release - it was slightly to one side and although the release button was working the doorr would get caught. MY FIX - open the fuel door and check the alignment using a flash light. If you can see the side that is getting caught you can loosen the two phillips screws holding the door hinge on move the door slightly to release this binding at the latch mechanism. Worked for me perfectly and now the door releases about an inch the first time I hit the release button. I no longer have to use a credit card to gently pry open the door.
Hope this helps some others with the fuel door latch issue.
