Defect in my paint...what to do?
Well everything has been great till now....but unfortunately a few problems have finally appeared with my Z. It is build number 4,2xx. I am about to turn 10,000 miles and will need to have the follwing repaired.
1) Growiling AC - no biggie per TSB
2) Fraying bottom on seat - already on order
3) Just developed 3rd gear grind under 3,000 rpms
3) 2 defects in my paint - need opinons...
I was waxing my car this weekend and noticed a paint defect. Looking at my driver-side rear fender you can see a faint spot. After looking closer it looks like spot a where they missed with the clear coat. It is about 3 inches wide and 2 inches tall. Also when you look at the sharp corner of the driver-side brake light, the paint has already begun to aligator crack. Here's the question, do I ask Nissan to repaint or deal with it? It won't affect resale value will it?
And if I do ask them to repaint should I have them do the two panels (rear bumper and fender) or the whole car? Is that even and option?

First off if there is only damage on two panels, they will only offer to repaint those two panels. It saves them money. I would point it out to the service manager and ask them politely to fix it. If they refuse, talk to both the sales manager and the dealership manager. It will also help if you bought it from the same dealer. Good luck and keep us posted.
