Default Stealership... Front driver strut bent?

*sigh* Took a run by the local dealership today... (longwood) Because my 03 keeps pulling to the left.. had the Alignment done by UTi instructors first and then to a local shop.. Still pulling to the left.. Took it to the Nissan stealership today and wasted 85$ for him to fit it and say its all good, got out on the road and turned right around.. Still pulling just like nothing was done. Says it is gonna be my Strutbar or maybe my hub.. Im thinking maybe a bent strut?? Front driver side.. Anyone else have this issue? Service Agent said it would be about 400$ for parts and labor to replace the strut... Any advice anybody??

++There was a guy there with a nice Nismo Z.. whoever that was.. very nice ;]
+The 370z's dont look to bad.. Alot nicer in person..

pics up ** if it even matters...

Well if you dont plan on lowering the car, I would just stay with OEM.

But if you do, however, decide to lower your car later on, Id do:

A "strut" is a shock absorber?

A "strut" is an anti-sway bar?

Don't buy used shocks.

EDIT: Or of course maybe the “hub.” I suggest that you let Nissan fix the car.

strut = shock

so do NOT buy a used strut*shock abosorber* for the main reason they go bad often? I seen many people on here selling there struts/shocks because they upgraded... with about 20k on a shock I can buy just one for 60$ shipped... is that not a good deal? Will a strut off a 2004 touring work on a 03 Enthus..? **Again totally nub to suspension faq ;p

did you hit something that could have bent or damaged something? does it pull all the time or just when braking?

it pulls ALL the time. I dont remember hitting anything... I mean.. some lil potholes in the road here and there.. i think bumped a curb when i first got it.. but nothing major.. but yes it will pull pretty drastic to the left.. going 60mph within 5-8sec it will switch lanes... =\

If you know 100% that the shock/strut is bad and that is what is causing the issue, then replace it with NEW one. I wouldn't buy used shocks because they have a limited life. There is no telling what kind of condition it will be in when you buy it or how long it will last.

Kirk just posted where you can buy a new one from.

I do not recommend DIY unless you are familiar with a spring compressor.

yes, its not hard to remove the wheels and have a look yourself... you always want to replace shocks in sets, both fronts or both rears... teh z has coil over shocks too which requires some special tools to compress and swap over the springs..

but im having a hard time understanding how a bad shock will cause the car to pull... when you had the car aligned, did you get a printout of the alignment specs? I think you need to ask the dealership to clarify exactly what they found and what they plan to do to fix it...

ok, well since things are still out of spec after an attempted alignment, im guessing that the factory adjustment range has been maxed out.

Is the suspension all stock? has the car ever been wrecked? are you the original owner?
