Hi everyone, my friend has an 03 track Z (same model/year as mine) with pretty much the same mods. His mods are Testpipes, invidia exhaust, headers, kinetics plenum, JWT popcharger n everything else is stock. My mods are on my sig. Anyway whenever we go at it from a roll, my Z will always get the jump. But as we get to higher speeds his Z will pull HARD
He'll put 1-3 cars on me and more as the speed gets higher? Anyone know why his Z pulls so much harder than mine up top? I doubt it's his headers/kinetics plenum? Also my Z is heavier than his, "bassani exhaust/buddyclub coilovers are a lot heavier than stock setup. Im starting to think theres something wrong with my car
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

^ U think so? I believe he shed off ~150lbs off his Z and my Z is heavier than stock so he has about ~200lbs of weight advantage with us in the car. THat was actually my first thought, but didn't think ~200lbs made such a big difference (his topend was putting buslenghts on me easy).
The weight is one factor, the plenum and headers are also going to allow his car to breathe better at higher rpm's which it sounds like is where he's pulling away.
Oh, and street racing
take it to the track.

^ I know, i never really street race. I wouldn't even call this a street race since we just went from 60mph-100mph on a literally empty hw. Also the closest track is 2hrs away. But thanks for the response.

^naw bassani it said 83lbs on my friends box when he got it. And after carrying both stock and bassani systems, i can say that the bassani is considerably heavier.

Stock is about 63lbs, Borla (similar setup) runs around 52lbs. A large bassani dealer from the forum around here reports the shipped weight of it as 69lbs. At least 5lbs of packing material, probably more, which puts it at least right around the weight of the stock system. Doesn't make sense for it to be 20lbs heavier than stock.

^hmm thats odd, i hope it's 63lbs. Cuz i was able to carry the whole stock exhaust with one arm and i couldn't move the bassani box at all lol. Oh and my friend has the revised version so it's probly heavier than mine. But thanks for the reply, i might look into getting a tune up soon.
