Default A/C on full blast when off?

Whenever I turn my car on the A/C goes on full when it is supposed to be off. I looked under the shifter.. and the little white box thats behind it.. dont know what it is called but looks like the white wire thats coming out of it has a mm even smaller tear in it. can that be the problem? and also the A/C is not blowing out cold air only hot, the little yellow light that used for the cold air does not light up.

When that white ribbon cable behind the center console is unplugged from the AC controllers, it wil cause the AC to come on full blast by itself. If there is a tear in it, I'd imagine it's the same thing. You will probably have to replace it. Did you remove the center console recently, maybe to repair/replace the radio?

yes. i think thats also the prob. Stupid question. anywhere I can find the just the white cable and not the hole white box itself? I looked and the wire seems glued to it.. and it would really suck replacing the hole thing since I imagine it would cost a poop load from Nissan...??

That question I can't answer. If I had to take a guess, I'd say you're screwed and will have to pick it up at the dealer. You might be able to find it at a salvage yard. I've never been the one to take a chance on salvage yards, so I really can't say...

Yep, white ribbon is the culprit.

ok thanks.. I took it apart today and it had a rip in two different sections. So I cut the rip sections off.. peeled back the plastic covering and got 2000 grid sandpaper to get to the cooper wire.. bent it back. and stuck it back in and guess what!! It worked!! I also called Nissan to see how much it would cost, they told me I would have to replace the whole thing and it would cost 410$ HECK NO!! but thats for the advice.
