Default 2004 Z problems?

Has anyone had any problems out of their 2004 Z's? I have the driver seat clunk noise, my headlights are adjusted way low, and I need to get my alignment checked because I think I am getting the feathering problem but I am not 100% sure. Has anyone had the tranny problems, the feathering, the suspension bounce, the paint chipping/hairlining problems, or the window grease marks from their 2004?

BTW, I have a Superblack 2004 base with 950 miles.

Are you sure you have a 2004? I have an '03 and don't have any of these problems except the window grease, and I'm at 5,000 miles.

Yes, of course I am sure I have an '04 350Z. The only problems I have for definite are the lights being out of adjustment and the seat clunk. I might have an alignment problem but I have to get that checked. I am just wondering if any '04 people are having any of the problems the '03 Zs are having.

Yes. The 1st first place I drove my Z after I took deliver is Nissan service department. I got my 04 on 8/20. My CD play jammed after I just took deliver and going back home. That was the 1st CD I ever put in there, it never comes out again. That CD still there. The dealer just orders a new one and going to replace my CD player.

One more thing is I just notice today. Hot/warm air comes out form the vent. If I try to get some fresh air form outside instead of "recirculate air". Is anyone the same problem here and know how to solve it? Thanks

I have 04 roadster w 1400 mi. the only probs so far are the window grease, but only when glass gets wet...havnt told dealer yet, not sure its worth the risk of tearing the door apart. Also Bose sub woofer has a buzz/rattle with deep bass, dealer has the car now for that.

I have a 2004 base. I went and got my alignment checked yesterday for peace of mind and it was out of wack. I also asked for the seat clunk to be fixed. They said they couldn't reproduce the noise so no fix there. That is a buncha bull but I don't have time right now to argue with them. All I have to say to you 2004 guys is, don't think you are out of the water just because you have the second year release of this car. There are still problems with it. You have to stay on top of them and know what to look for. AND GET YOUR ALIGNMENTS CHECKED...

Looks like I spoke too soon. I have the dreaded seat clunking noise, it shifts on me all the time. I'm gonna wait to bring it in just incase something else develops in the future. Noticed the seat problem after about 600 miles. Now I'm paranoid about the alignment. Did the dealership do this? Did it cost you anything to have it checked?

Yes the dealership did it and yes it was free. Just go in and tell them that your car pulls to the right. They will check the alignment automatically. It is all under warranty work. Don't go in and say that you want your car check for alignment because you heard other Zs were having problems. They will probably tell you no. I will let yall know what I did about the seat clunk when I get a chance to take the car back to the dealership.

BTW, the "Master Tech" at United Nissan in Morrow is an idiot and a smart ***. He said that just because I have read about all of the problems with the Z online doesn't mean there are problems. He also said he wasn't aware of the TSB for the seat clunk nor the alignment and tire replacement problems. He said alignment problems on a brand new car isn't possible. This was AFTER he fixed the alignment on my car. LOL...

Well, mine moves from side to side, not up and down. When I go around turns, it feels like there's something clinking into the seat rails under the seat. Very irritating when you're trying to concentrate on driving your line...

i have a base '04 350z. The "clunk" i hear is only when i make a left turn, it feels like the seat shifts a little, but when i turn left or get back straight it won't make a noise, which is wierd since if its making it one way shouldn't it make it the other way as well?

Anyway, just make a hard left and feel the clunk.

Do a search on this board for 'tire feathering', you'll be reading for hours.
