Default Front brake squeaks

I've got an 05 with 25k miles. I got it about 2 months ago. The front breaks started squeaking about 1 month ago (800ish miles).

Now one thing that pops out at me is before I bought it I had a nissan dealer give it a once over. They showed me that on the front breaks a metal tab was popped out that was supposed to be hooked in. Nissan said that the brake would have to come off and that tab be put back in.

Used car dude said he a tool and he was able to get it clicked back in.

I can't help but think this is all related and I should have demanded new brake pads

Any idea whats going on? I hate nothing more than squeaky brakes

I'm thinking perhaps the dealer was too lazy to take off the caliper and put the tab back into place. Take off your rim, look through the caliper and see if there is enought pad material. Then take off the lower caliper bolt, swing the caliper up, and you can put the hook back in. If anything, perhaps they did a shotty job and did not use brake grease. Its an easy job to be honest. I'd do it for you in spring break lol just oo busy with school right now.

At any rate, and for your peace of mind, our beaZts suffer from squealing brakes--at least a fairly high percentage of 'em. So, relax and enjoy your monZter.
