Default what the heck happened?

I have an 06 auto with 32kmiles. I did some DIY maintenance last week, i drained the tranny fluid and re-filled it. 4qts and 1 pt. replaced. After a day driving it, i drained 2 qts and re-filled it. Now the tranny is acting weird, alot of hard shifting especially downshift. Worse part is from 2nd to 1st i get jerking motion coming to a stop. I was going to have the dealer flush it, but when i called another dealer to find their price, the tech advised me not to flush it. drain and re-fill is fine.

What brand of fluid did you use in it?

this is in an automatic? I thought they held up to 10qts?

edit: just checked the FSM....6mt hold 3.25 quarts while the automatic 10 and 7/8....

If youre using Matic J fluid i assume you have a automatic....4quarts << 10...uh oh

If you just drain and re-fill, you might not get all the original fluid out - so filling with less than the max capacity wouldn't surprise me. Only 4 quarts does seem a bit low, though.
