Default Drivers side window automatically rolls back down...

I just bought on 03 Z, and noticed some odd problem. When I put the drivers side window up and get out and lock the door with the remote, the window puts itself down a quarter of the way. This doesn't happen if I lock the windows before getting out of the car, but it's still kind of annoying.

There is a method for cleaning the motor with step by step instructions on the board. It’s an alternative to $275 although the motor is old. Anyway, this issue has been discussed ad nauseam.

Troof. But its not $275 if you find the thread thats great with pics and do it yourself with the one from autzone. ($130 after core exchange). Its really easy I did it in my apt. complex in under an hour.

I meant the dealer charges $275+ for installation of a new motor.

NO all you have to do is to use the reset switch technique:

1. With the door open, lift up and hold the power window switch until the door glass is fully closed.
2. Get inside the vehicle and close the door.
NOTE:
You need to close the door so the door switch is fully depressed.
3. Press and hold the reset switch. While holding the reset switch, press down and hold the power window
switch until the door glass is fully opened.
4. Relese the reset switch. Then, lift up and hold the power window
switch until the door glass is fully closed.
5. Open the door to release the door switch. The door glass should
partially move down.
CAUTION:
Do not use the window auto function.
Do not release the switch before the window is fully
stopped.

same thing happened to my 350z 6 months ago. Time for a new set of motors! Replace both side because both my windows went dead within weeks of each other. I got my motors at www.rockauto.com for $270 with a lifetime warranty.

good luck

midz350 is exactly correct. DO NOT BUY A NEW MOTOR! My passenger window would back itself down halfway when using auto-up and I had the dealer do the reset when it was in for the fuel filler recall. that was like 3 years ago? Now it is doing it again, but only when it is warm out, did not do it all winter, just last summer and now again on warm days. I'll do the reset when I can find the time to pull the door skin.
And my drivers side motor died at around year 2 - passenger side is the original. Going on 6 years in June. Wonder how many people have wasted their money on new motors for this problem? Also wonder how many more replies will tell the OP to buy new motors? Doesn't anyone read the previous responses before posting? I don't think so.
Oh, and to the OP - Lock the windows? Can you explain that?
