Default car floods everytime A/C is on

ok so on the way to a 300 mile trip i realize that my passenger side carpet was soaked and wet, probably a half an inch of water. my ac was on the whole time.

my brother who is a tech told me that it might be a backed up ac drain.

is this true and if so where is the drain at.

it floods everytime i turn my ac on.

im not able to bring it into nissan til a few weeks later. so im hoping someone can point me in the right direction as whether its the ac that is causing this

My old company had shitt jeep and that also did the same thing. Its basically coolant, that was coming from the heater core.

On most cars, the heater core is located underneath the dash on the passenger's side. You may have a leak there, but getting to the heater core may require taking apart the dash. Just wait and have Nissan check it out if you still have warranty.

either what your bro said or the rubber hose from the drain may have came loose and draining inside the car and not out.

id go with the drain hose backing up prolly just needs to be unblocked or its freezing and the condensation is whats causing the problem

Just by the smell, I think the original poster could tell the difference between coolant and water. I suspect the drain hose for the A/C is stopped up. Antifreeze would make for a bad smelling interior.

I have a g35 so hopefully it's similar to your z.
Pull back the carpet by the transmission tunnel on the passenger side of the car.
You might have to remove some trim pieces by the passenger kick panel to be able to pull the carpet back. There's a black hose that runs along the tranny tunnel up to the evaporator. That's the drain hose.
