Default Quick oil change places - wrong fluids?

With the arrival of my Z expected in October I started to wonder.... can I trust the local quick change to change the oil?

Here is why I ask. I read that the Z automatic tranny uses a special fluid (I am getting the 6M, but you get the point) and that using the wrong fluid would be a problem.

What about the coolant? Power steering? Etc.

Is there anything unusual enough about the 350Z 6MT that I need to warn the lube shop?

The local quick oil change place is actually very good. They are VERY carefull with the cars and follow special directions well. I trust them as mechanics, but I wory that their "standardized treatment" may not be appropriate for the Z.

Thoughts?

If you are concerned then provide you own oil. You can use some of the high grade synthetics such as Royal Purple, Redline or AMSOIL. They will usually give a couple of bucks off if you provide you own oil and you can be assured of getting the best oil available. I use Royal Purple synthetic front to back.

Its ok for them to do it, most of the places have experience with many types of cars doing everything from oil changes to tranny flushes. It shouldnt be a problem, remeber the 3.5 has been around for a few years in the Pathfinder.

Hi, bill, where would be a good place to get Royal Purple, any place with better prices? and what grade of the transmission fluid and gear oil do you use? Don't we have to use a special grade in order to run better on the gears? thanks.
