Default 2007 Nissan 350z two air cabin filters?

I go into the dealership for an oil change and my service guy says I'm way overdue for a replacement of my air cabin filters. He's continues to say that I have two of them in mine since it's an 07 but I read everywhere that none of these cars have it. He also says that it will blow out my catalytic converter if I don't change it. He said he has seen it blow out catalytic converters himself.

I'm thinking about canceling my 100,000 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. I think i paid 1500 to 1700 for it. Is it worth it?

The only thing I'm worried about is that my stick is a bit stiff when putting ino gears, not as smooth as it used to be with 28k miles on it. Is this a costly replacement?

If I take my Z to a regular mechanic who I trust for my 30k and my 60k, will it void the warranty?

^ +1 he must be referring to your 2 air intake filters. You have no cabin air filters.

I have a cabin filter in my garage for a 04 Z.i asked the parts guy if Z's had one.He looked it up,it showed a part no.so I bought one. Then I find out Z's don't have one,I phone him back and he says BS,we replace them every day.I challenged him to change mine but he declined.I'd have to book an appt with the service dept.

just pop off the 4 spring clips lift up the air filter tray and replace the 2 rectangle filters

regular ones go for 10-20 each
k&n go for around 30 each

+ I plan to clean, wash and oil my air filters every other time i do an oil change (JWT twin pop chargers)

for the K&N.. I'd clean them once and then get new ones the next time ;however, I wouldn't change them too frequently

I see no filter and not one person in here as every changed one to my knowledge. Would be interested what that is in the above picture though.

That's the air passage for outside air. When the unit is off, it's closed. When you open it, that flap opens in there. But if there was a filter you would see it in there. I think the 350z doesn't come with one standard anyways. but it might be able to accept one.

filter would only clean the air coming in

you have Mildew or Mold in your ac from condensation - a pain to get rid of.

i've seen spray at the autoparts stores that you spray in the outside air intake (NOT the engine!) that says it eliminates it, probably lysol would work too

goodluck!

i'm pretty sure he meant air intake filters (even if thats not what he said), not cabin filters, as our cars don't have cabin filters.

the statement about the cat's proves that he was talking about intake filters, even though dirty intake filter would in no possible way cause you to blow out your cat's.

why would you cancel your extended warranty? what does that have to do with anything?

and besides, intake filters are cheap, its less than 30 bucks for both including tax. and if they're charging you and arm and a leg to change it (actually if they're charging you at all), change them yourself, its as east as cake, even easier actually.

you still have warranty, if there is something wrong with your transmission, the warranty should cover it, if the dealer is telling you otherwise, go to a diffferent dealer or call NNA. going to a different dealer would prolly be a better idea, cause if this one is trying to charge you for warranty work, who knows how else they're gonna try to rip you off. or you could still call NNA just to tell them how retarded the dealer is.

its more like 40-50 usd each in the US, and imo a rip off. they don't give you any power gain at all, and as cheap as the stock ones are, its cheaper to buy new stock filters every 10k or so then buying kn filter cleaning kits...

I would say, if he is asking these questions, then no he probably cannot change the filter by himself.
