Radiator Fan Replacement?
Hello All,
I was hoping I could get some advice from anyone who may have replaced the radiator fans. Were you able to do it without taking apart the front of the car such as removing the front bumper and radiator? Can it be done on ramps or jack stands or is a lift necessary?
I have been having trouble with the low speed not working (driver side). High speed (passenger side) does come on. I ran the diag in the factory service manual and it is consistently not working. Also will not come on with AC. I have traced the wires from the IPDM to the fan and there is continuity. I also tried swapping the IPDM relays to different places and made no difference. I do also see ~11.x volts on the wiring harness to the fan when it is supposed to turn on. So, my last test is to apply direct voltage to the fan.
If it is bad it looks like they sell just the motor (saw it at courtesy parts). Anyone ever replace it without major surgery? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

Did you try to get the fan assembly out from below? I can't tell for sure but there looks like there might be some room. In your case I assume since you had to take off the whole radiator you had to flush/refill the coolant as well?
I will probably just get the Nissan OEM fan motor. I'm not heavily modded, just want her running again

bumper doesnt have to come out, but makes things easier. plus the Z bumper is easy as hell to remove. radiator doesnt have to come out, but needs to be moved a little in order to get the room to pull it all out.
did a whole radiator replacement in a parking lot in about an hour, shouldnt be too hard for you!
