"And yet, they still come back."

What is your point? I'm not bashing the car. I'm saddened by the fact that I got a lemon and that there seems to be too many early 2003 Z owners with similar problems that have not been adequately addressed by Nissan. If Nissan would have stepped up, then this scenario would have gone differently. I did not choose for NNA to ignore me and not deal with the list of problems with my car.

I thought I made myself clear that there is nothing else out there in the same league as the Z yet you find a need to start something. May ask, if you are such a proud owner of the Z why are you perusing and posting comments in the "Anyone in Arbitration" thread in the first place?

Hi, I have a call in to adam g. oil consumption and tire feathering.

Nissan is stating they will repace my engine, and are changing my tires for the first time.

Can you give me any helpful info on how to approach this.

I have just concluded a BBB buyback. The NNA arbitration team are rude and will strait up lie to you and the arbitrators, so take good notes as you proceed it makes it smoother when you can counter their lies in the hearing with facts dates and cell phone bills for proof of calls. Adam Goodman was my rep. from NNA arbitration. wish all you guys luck

Default Re: Arbitration for engine failure = new car?

Hi, omg, nissan just ok'd my new engine due to oil consumption. anyway, i am complaining of the same devalue thing and not up to the lemon law as yet with #'s serviced.

Please contact me. I am also having the feathering tire alignment problem.

I've read all of the above posts and noticed that most people have gone to arbitration over tire feathering, tranny failures, squeaks, rattles, etc. However, it doesn't look like any else has had an issue with oil consumption/engine failure.

I have an oil consumption problem and NNA has agreed to replace the entire engine. However, I'm fighting them to get the car replaced. The problem is, my car doesn't really qualify as a lemon. I've only taken the car in 3 times, once for the grease streak fix, and twice for the oil consumption problem. That being said, getting your engine replaced is a much more significant ordeal than squeaks and rattles or alignment issues. The resale value of the car is going to plunge if I have the engine replaced. Have bought and sold several used cars I know that it's damn near impossible to sell a car with a replaced engine. It's like a big red flag for people to avoid when buying a used car, and I intend to sell my car in 3 years or so.

So anyway, just wondering if anyone has gone to arbitration over having the car replaced for an engine failure.

Thanks

Is this enough for lemon law/buyback:
-grease streaks (both windows)
-tranny replaced
-tire feathering (even after TSB still getting noise)
-Trunk is not opening all the way when you press button
-car is losing half a quart of oil in between changes
-rattles

I am on my third tranmission now, and I expect this one will likely be grinding withing 7500 miles as well.

Among other problems I have had... this may or may not qualify me for TX lemon law.

At any rate I am going to sell the car, or trade it on or something, I cant take this.

Was the lemon law process worthwhile? How long did it take? How should I proceed if I am to persue having NNA buy my car back. How do they value the car when they buy it back?

My issues:
- rear view mirror fix
- gas door - replaced
- rear axle ticking - replaced
- clutch pedal assembly - replaced
- cup holder - replaced
- clutch/pressure plate/bearing - replaced 2x due to squeaks
- loose bolt for clutch slave cylinder
- drivers window switch - replced
- now I have issues with my 5th gear => dealer was able to duplicate this

Do you think I have a point in making an arbitration case with BBB? I have 04 with 18k miles...

That's a tough question. I would read up on the specifics of IL Lemon Law.
Usually it's 3 or 4 times for the same problem or a certain number of days you're without your car in a year.
