My driver's side side skirt was like that when I bought it but didn't notice it right away.
I took it to the dealer to get it repaired. The skirt is attached from the factory with some clips and some adhesive tape right where your photo shows it is detached. My dealer tried to repair it but it wouldn't work so they ordered a new skirt. I asked if it came painted and they looked into it and found out it doesn't. I didn't want a new skirt due to color matching concerns so they had a local body shop look at it and they bonded it to the body where the adhesive went and I haven't had any problems although it still isn't as tight as I would like. All covered under warranty of course.

I have this same problem on the drivers side. I thought about taking it to the dealer, but im just going to replace the skirts later anyways, so it doesn't really bother me all that much.

I purchased the car at Future Nissan in Roseville and I took it to them for the warranty work.
I previously owned a 2000 Maxima and I didn't like the service I received from Stevens Creek so I didn't want to give them my business on the Z. I also had my Maxima serviced by Capitol a couple times and liked their service but both dealship have the same owner. One thing about Capitol is their service department seemed to never answer their phone. It seemed like it always took a couple calls to get someone to answer to make an appointment. Weird.

i finally got the CD, and found the skirt section... Seems like the skirt is held together by a bunch of clips and bolts... I just pushed the skirt toward the car a bit along the side and heard two clicks!!! Sounds like a couple of clips were loose and it seems a little bit better now! Great toy!!

I also say take it to the dealer .. it shouldn't just fall apart like that.

My passenger side skirt is loose below the door. These are dealer installed right? that would explain why
