Default Idle Ticking Sound

I have a 2003 6MT and I hear a ticking sound every 2-3 seconds during idle. This only happens after I've driven the car and warmed it up.

I've already searched the forum, and it seems like it's normal since it goes away when I push the clutch down. It's just a bit embarrassing when I'm at a stop light because it's a very noticeable CLICK....TICK...TICK... when you're bundled up with a bunch of cars and everyone's windows are rolled down at the stop light. Does anyone else have this issue? I just want to confirm it's the transmission and not the engine. Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry, I wasn't too detailed. No mods except for a AEM CAI. The clutch was replaced last year at Nissan with OEM parts. 118k Miles. I have grinding issues, but it's a 2003 and the transmission was never replaced so I'm not really surprised.

Have you checked for an exhaust leak? They tend to sound like ticking.

Also, most cars that have higher mileage tick normally. My toyota tundra and sequoia both tick at idle but they say its "injector tick" or "valve lash". There used to be threads about ticking but its been awhile since ive seen them. Im sure someone else can chime in and help you out a little bit more than me.

Honestly, I'm not too worried at this point because it goes away whenever I push the clutch down, which makes me think it isn't the engine. As long as it's the transmission and not the engine I'm good. I was going to get the transmission replaced anyways.

I'm really just trying to confirm whether or not it's OK to rule out the engine based on the fact that the ticking sound goes away when the clutch is pressed.

If you would have searched, you'd find out it's normal.

There was only ONE post in ONE thread saying it was normal. It isn't like the axle clicking issue where everyone and their mom is saying it's normal. If you would've read my post properly, you would've seen that I DID search and that I was merely looking for more confirmation that it's indeed normal. GTF off my nuts about searching, I'm not stupid.
