2004 Touring power seat track issue
My seat has started doing a weird thing... it will only go about 80-90% of the way either forward or backward, and once it goes past that point it will rotate as though it continues to move on the left track but not on the right. This may be confusing... what I mean is when I move it back it goes about 80% of the way and then it keeps going, but only the left side moves, making the seat twist counter-clockwise. The opposite happens when I move it forward... meaning that 80% of the way forward, only the left side moves, the right stops, so it twists clockwise.
Has anybody ever heard of a similar problem? I inspected the tracks as best I could to see if something was stuck on them and blocking the movement, but I didn't see anything. Could it be the actual motor? If so, why would it work perfectly in the middle but not on the end, and only fail on one side?
Any ideas?
