Default Oil Pressure......:(

Well my cars oil pressure is really f***ing high at start up it is around i'l say 112psi and when it warms up its still around 112-115 and when i accelerate it surpasses 120psi and idk what's wrong...

what could it be???

man i swear this car is more trouble than what is worth...

Now is it supposed to be tight with no thread showing because mine has a good amount of thread showing.....

no, think that thread showing is normal. mine is the same way.


oil press is always funky on the z cars. i see a posts like this all the time, and i still have no idea what to do about it other than replacing a sensor.



so i am almost positive that davidv has the correct answer.

where can i get one because i went to my local autozone that they just looked at me like i was stupid when i asked for an oil pressure sensor, is there another name for it??

I have another question with my pressure that high what could happen??

the reason i ask is that i don't get paid for 2 more weeks and this is my only car so if i drive it what will happen??

also if the sensor is broken does it mean it is just reading it wrong?? or is the oil pressure really at 120+ psi??

The motor and seals are not designed to run at 120 PSI.

a. Sensor is broken
b. Oil pressure gage is broken
c. Oil pressure IS 120 PSI!

Well is there a way to test if it is the sensor??
