I drive a 2003 Nissan 350z touring model with 32,000 miles..it has nismo exhaust on it and lately ive been noticing a funny noise..From 3rd gear to 6th whenever im at low rpm's and i give it any gas, i get a low, rattling, droany clanking sound coming from beneath the car. Any ideas as to what this could be?

I think an exhaust bracket (or 3) has worked themselves loose. Trans. you should notice shifting problems...It could be any number of things but start with the exhaust mounts.

 

You sure the sound is coming from the exhaust? Running 3rd-6th gear at a low speed (low engine rpm) can cause quite a bit of clutch chatter, perhaps more so on a worn clutch.

 

Just a suggestion. Put a subject in the subject line like

Squeaking brakes

instead of

Help
