Default CRAAAP my tranny started grinding going into 3rd

dang it, I had a similar problem with my wifes Jetta (synchros) and it was fixed under warentee with NO problems.

I hope Nissan treats me well also.

I am TOTALLY frustrated, but atleast I could end up with the NEW stronger version tranny.

it went from NEVER grinding, to grinding EVERYTIME I go from 2nd to 3rd.

have an appointment 7am tomarrow. Guy was cool when I called and he is familiar with it, so that is a good sign.

If I put my tranny in second or third while rolling, leave the clutch in and come out of the gear slowly If you feel it out right and go to put it back in when you feel it half way in gear you can feel it grind a little is this normal? My gsx I could do that in every gear. Pull it half way out of gear when the clutch is in and then put it back towards putting it in gear and feeling the gear grind a little. Is this normal or is the tranny problems? Just shifting from N to 3 or 2-3 etc is perfectly smooth, but if you play around with the clutch in a little while rolling I can get it to grind a little. Maybe I am not familiar with grinding?

can someone put in terms what grinding is? To me I've always thought it was like if you threw a wrench in a food processor kind of sound or am I wrong? I haven't heard this yet, but want to make sure that if I do hear something I can say its the tranny. Also, I've notice that in 3rd it sorta kicks back a little. Maybe its the vibration, but with my hand on the stick it feels like its moving back and forth a cm or two.

Mine started the 3rd gear grin last Saturday took it to my dealer Monday they gave me a rental called and told me that they are ordering a new tranny and that Nissan wanted the old one shipped to them intact. Dealer ship called the next day and told me that the transmission are on back order.

I get the grind every 1 - 3 days when going into 3rd. I've got 13,500 miles started at 12,900.

Mine gets locked out of 3rd gear when driving hard. For example: launch from 1st or WOT at 2nd.
