threw a code just yesterday, had it scanned and it read "P2A00 02 bank1 sensor1 range/performance" anyone have any idea what this is?

 

Are you sure about that DTC number (2A00)? Usually they are P followed by 4 digits, see here...

The problem is that there are about a dozen "Bank x Sensor y" related errors so it could be any one of them but none of the code numbers come close.

 

Take a pen and paper with you next time and write it down.

 

I (we) owe you an apology - I did a little digging and there are apparently two new codes for 06/07/08 engines: P2A00 and P2A03. Basically, they indicates that Sensor 1 is reading a rich or lean condition. The FSM lists several possible causes:

Air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1
Air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1 heater
Fuel pressure
Fuel injector
Intake air leaks

(It does help when you guys either have something in your sig to indicate what year car you have or you mention it in your post.)

 

It sounds like you have test pipes and catback by your mods. I didnt get either of those codes when I did mine. Do you have anything stupid like a leaking gasket, or the O2 sensor dmged in the removal process?

 

im sorry i should hgave mentioned the year..

and yes i am running test pipes for about 2 years now, and postive, no leaks or any damage to the o2.

 

Ever figure out what happened here?
