Default p2a00 after transmission service

Had to have master and csc slave replaced on my 2008 350z. Got the car back and after about 50 miles the check engine light came on. I brought it into the dealer which replaced the above parts and they said it is throwing a p2a00 code, which was listed as 'air flow sensor' on the invoice. After doing some searching on the forums this error code can be pretty open ended. The service guy said the issue was an oxygen sensor prior to the catalytic converter, and quoted me ~$550 for the part. This car is stock, with no aftermarket exhaust. I dont think they would have needed to do anything with the exhaust when removing the transmission for the fix on the clutch, so I dont think they would have broken anything.

Looks like the sensor or harness got damaged by whoever was working on the transmission.

Is this sensor located in an area which would be touched if the transmission was pulled? I found diagrams of both parts, but not their relation in the whole vehicle.

Check out the underbody pic of a Z.

As you can see, the cats are on both sides of the transmission. The O2 sensor harness is actually mounted to the transmission then the connectors run to each sensor.

The dealership is having a "conference" with the mechanic and service manager, and is going to call me back.

Guy at nissan said the part number is 22693-1na0a, and the mechanic said this part is by the 'manafold' they did not go near it when removing the transmission. Somehow I dont believe its a coninsidence like they say, but oh well...

Is there any negative impact on not getting this fixed imediatly?

Short term it's not a big problem but you don't want to leave it that way forever. The O2 sensors are controlling what the ECU does with Air/fuel mix. Having it run out of spec for an extended period won't be good.
