Unhappy 5th gear grind, and warranty question.

Fack!!!! My car grinds when shifting into 5th now. It's an 06 with 36k miles. I have an ACT HD clutch. Is the dealer going to give me any problems because I have this clutch in my car? Is it likely they will try to blame this on abuse? Also, are there any dealers/service managers in the So cal area that anyone could recommend? I am leaning towards taking it to West Covina Nissan, but I would like some suggestions. I have oil consumption as well. So I would be taking it in for that too. yay!

Dealers do not like to give away transmission because of grind. Their diagnosis usually reads "Can not duplicate."

Free transmission with aftermarket clutch? Forget about it.

That's really tough to say without seeing it. I'd say bring it in and we'd be happy to look at it! Unless it has proven to be the cause of the problem, we won't hassle you for the clutch.

Thanks for your input. Can you recommend me a service manager, and his number/ext, so I can set up an appointment? Also, this problem only arises only when I first start driving it in the morning too.

I just brought my '06 yesterday for a 5th and 6th grind...i have 81K right now. I brought it at about 30K last time when they repaired 5th under warranty. Yesterday i asked the mechanic if my clutch was being damaged or influenced this grind at all...he said no. Sooo, if our mechanics share the same opinion, then the clutch shouldn't have anything to do with it. But you know how dealerships are...they make excuses for anything.

Cmon now...that's like saying all Cops love donuts...not all dealerships are the same

I had this issue today, I'm going to change the tranny/clutch fluids soon and see if it does anything. The car is at 35k.
