Question Car making whinny noise

have any of you guys had this experience?
when the car is on idle it makes sort of a whinny noise but when I step on the clutch the noise goes away and will come back if I let go of the clutch?

My Mustang did that when my throw out bearing was bad wouldnt let the clutch fully disengage. If your throw out bearing is going bad then replace the whole clutch. You'll be paying the same labor wise. Just my $.02

KONVERTER, I guess we're on the same boat. Is it still like that on your car or did you fix it? Should this problem be given mechanical attention? I thought this could be a normal thing on all Z's.

Kenyon- dont get sucked into the grounding thing- the whole engine is at ground, and the ground wire is connected to the frame and the negative side of the battery and the engine is grounded to the frame in several ways in addition. The only thing the ground kit does is add some color to the engine bay. If this is cool to you, then go ahead, but it does not affect perfomance, but if not done quite right, could lead to a ground loop which might make things act up....

johnsZ,
I understand what you're saying. I'm just basically wondering if the grounding kit will help my car eliminate the rough idle. I'm not interested in buying it for appearance looks or performance. I just want it if it'll solve my problem.

Yeah I have that problem to. Sounds like the tranny is loose somehow? I hear a similar noise every time I hit a bump. Sounds like the tranny is hitting the body someshow.

Thats just my guess. I would like to solve this annoying problem.
