Default Metal to Metal sound at high speeds

I only drive fast on clear open roads. But lately when I'm running over 100mph, I hear a loud metal scaping sound coming from the right rear wheel. I can hear it through the wheel well with the windows up. It almost sounds like it's the brake pads scraping. But why would they only make that noise at high speeds. Also it's pretty loud. Almost too loud to be the brake pads. Any ideas?

Could be your pads scraping but usually you don't need to going 100+mph to hear that. If so check your brake dust shield as well, it could be scraping the rotor.
Bearings come to mind

I would really send it in for a check up if you are still under factory warranty. Last thing you want to find out is permanant damage. Good luck bro, and drive safe even under open road conditions. You never know whats ahead

alright update for anyone who has a similar problem... my sound was caused by a stuck retainer clip for the brake pad. it basically pressed one part of the brake pad up against the rotor a lot harder, almost sheared the pad down to the rivets. going to replace all pads now

I've checked this. It's not the clips, pads or dust sheild.

It's definitly becoming more frequent. I'm now able to replicate the sound while at normal speeds. While on the highway it makes the scraping sound over any bumps or dips in the road. Also during any hard left turns. It's a very load scraping sound. It almost sounds like a shovel scraping against concrete. Any ideas??

Ok...I've found out what it was. I can't believe it took me this long to figure it out. It was a piece of metal about 8 in. long. It's alomost like a piece of electrical fishing tape. I cant beleive that it was scaping on the ground, it was like 2 inches from the ground. I guess the nismo suspension gives pretty significantly under hard cornering. here's a picture of it.

Just started having the same problem, but it only happens when I break and turn to the right... I changed the front brake pads about 3 or 4 months ago and when I checked the back one's they looked like they had a good amount of pad left so I popped them back on... I'm gonna check it out this Sunday to make sure it's not the pads. Any more input would be great.

you guys need to grease the pads where the little tabs slide into the bracked that will help keep them from getting cocked to one side.

I did, even putting the old pads back on the rear brakes, they still squeak when I stop. But this sounds like metal on metal and it's only when I slow down and turn the car to the right. Really weird...

Ok it's not my breaks, it was racking my brain and decided to go out driving. it does it whether I brake or speed up at low speeds and only when I turn right. It's really getting annoying.

Default Success!!!

I looked at my front passenger side brake where the noise was coming from and I saw this...

... as you can see it bent sideways so it was touching the rotor and causing the creaking sound, the part was shaved down about an 8th of an inch. I cut down the part a little more and bent it back into place. I don't hear any creaking or metal one metal noise anymore.

The reason I cut it instead of buying a new piece is because it is after hours, so this is a temporary fix until I can buy one from Nissan.
