Default New Battery Questions

So my battery has just died, I am taking steps this winter towards purchasing performance parts for my car so as to prepare for next years track days and meets...

Accordingly, must I go with a yellow/red top battery to handle hard driving or can I just procure a $90 battery and yield the same results?

A standard battery should be just fine.

You may want to invest in a high quality batter charger (if you haven't already). I used to have Carrera that I only drove a 3-4 times a month. I used to keep it on a low charge most of the time.

So i bought a new Yellow top duralast last night $100 bucks and what a difference a new battery makes...I haven't felt the car come to life like this! It could just be my mind, but I feel that the car is much more responsive as well as an acceleration difference...

Those that have replaced your original battery how long did it last you? I changed mine yesterday after 3.5 years, I thought it should of laters a few more months. I'm thinking it may be due to the amp and my radio.

It's in your mind. Your Z might have labored when it started with your old, failing battery, but responsiveness and acceleration were likely the same after the start.
