Hey all. I was just wanting to get some feedback as my search didn't seem to turn up much info. When I come to a complete stop I hear a poping noise from the front right, passanger, side. Not sure what is causing it but I seem to notice it more when I'm pulling in to a parking spot turning left. I have seen the other posts where people hear a pop while shifting but mine is an automatice and I only hear it when I break.

 

I recently took notice of this too, since it just started happening. It only happens though in the morning right after my first stop. I cant tell what it is, but it is coming from the front passenger side.

BTW, I have ~3000 vin # Z

 

Well I'll tell you this....the sound you hear I also have heard. To me It feels like the ABS is kicking in early. I tried to start a thread on this early ABS kicking sound.....but I should have been more general about it. My car is currently at the dealership with many symptoms....hopefully everything is found and resolved.

 

the same thing happens to me. Whenever i break somewhat hard, turn left, right, back out of a driveway it pops.

Maybe it has soemthing to do with suspension. I'm gunna bring it in on sat to find out what the deal is.

 

My car started doing this about 5 months ago... It only got worse. My dealer couldnt fix it at first becuase of time restraints, then I scheduled an appointment and they removed the under carriage cover and found a loose bolt somewhere in the suspension. It has been fixed for about 5 months... as I said.

It was bad in sharp turns, especially when breaking... Also when I would hit the gas in reverse... It started as a pop then turned into a loud thump after a while...


P.S. Mine is an Auto as well...

 

This is a fairly common problem that other threads have addressed. I had it too. The upper control arm on the passenger side most likely needs to be tightened to factory specs. I just had it done. Works like a charm now.
