Z does not run smooth between 2000-3000 RPM w/ Invidia Test Pipes installed
Hey guys! I just wanted to ask for ideas on this. I got Invidia Test Pipes installed on my 08 350Z and so far I love them. It is not really raspy and the car definitely sounds stronger. My only concern is that after I got the pipes installed, my car does not run smooth between 2000-3000 RPM and does not accelarate as fast as it used to. After 3000 RPM though, I feel a big difference, did not have a dyno but definitely gained some HP on high RMP's.
I also had the car tuned up with Cobb Accessport that I used to run on Stage 1 when the only upgrade was a Stillen Gen3 intake. Now I jumped to Stage 2+ after the test pipe installation. I was not sure if software has anything to do with this problem and I tried to downgrade my map to Stage2 Stage1, also uninstalled it just to see how it runs and it is still doing the same thing, jumping between 2000-3000 and it is definitely because of the test pipes, not because Cobb software or tune-up.
My question is, did anyone have the same problem after test pipe installation and if there is anyway to get around that and gain the power I lost on low RPM's. Any advice is appreciated!

Check the cobb set-up. For stage two you need a few more upgrades to use. I installed headers, along with dual exhaust, CAI,and plenum spacer. The headers were done last. I did'nt notice any difference at first. Two days later my low and mid range become alot more responsive. You may have to wait it out for the ECM to relearn. By the Cobb specs, you should be running stage 1?

When, i had only test pipes and a catback. I would get this pause around 2800rpms and then after that it was take off
. Well got a tune and it fix that (uprev), it could be because the cob is a broad tune and your needing a more detailed tune for what is going on.

what kind of tune did you get? cobb or something else? I was thinking of an e-tune and Cobb offered me to go with Cobb Surgeline. I contacted them and they are basically telling me they are not comfortable tuning my car that way because of my intake so I am stuck Thread
