Default weird sound when accelerating

I get this sound like small rocks in a can and you shake it when accelerating. I let me friend drive my car and said it could be the stock cats. Any of you experiencing the same problem?

Need more info...miles, how long has it done it...

With just the info you've provided I would guess the heat shields on the cats are coming loose...or I've heard detonation sounds like that too.

start putting premium in your car... or check the rear diff mount... possibly cracked... Is the noise mostly heard when starting from a stop??? or is it high RPM??? or maybe the felines are coming apart???

its an 06 auto with 47k miles. I always use 93 octane gas never put any lower. Oh i wish i could get a recording audio my camera suck lol. When i get this sound i also get acceleration hessitation, i'd say the car is in limp mode.

It could be the cats. The honeycomb interior might have cracked which would explain the limp mode.
