Any of you guys ever shift into 3rd instead of 5th at significant speed,aka past redline?

I did sat night, wasn't pleasant. Shifts ok as a result however I think it makes a bit more noise in gear.

the last time i shifted into 5th was at 125 and i tried to make it a smooth shift to not **** it up lol i havent gone past 151... 5th gear at almost 5800rpms needed more street room lol

ok just got my 07 back today. ~19k and tranny replaced for 5th gear grind. they said it was bad synchros. shifts like butter now.

+1 I'm having the random 5th gear grind @ 58k miles. I usually skip 5th but hopefully I can get a warranty fix.

did you pay anything additional or was that fully covered? how long did that process take?

Bumping an old thread...

My 05 is difficult to get into 5th.. But I dont hear a "grind" per say...
If i double clutch to go into fifth, it seems fine.. But still requires force to get it into 5th.
Thoughts?

I used to get a 5th grind when i first got my car, but a CD009 trans fixed that. 85k on my CD009 now, still works great.

If I have the same problems with zJames, would the problem likely to deteriorate and cause more problems over time or would it probably remain as bad as it is?
