Clutch Feels Soft - Fluid replaced. 06 6MT
The thing that gets me is this problem only occurs when it's hot under stop and go over 20-30mins. Winter is fine for the last 2 years of this. I truly suspect the fluid being fatigued. Mine hasn't been replaced yet. I have ATE superblue waiting in the box, but I had to replace a dead battery 2 days ago lol. I will try this weekend if I have time.
It is important to note in my Soft Clutch Pedal scenario that this problem only presented the symptoms after the dealer replaced the clutch fluid the first time. I made the dealer replace the fluid again for free after a month of living with this issue and still it did no good. Even with two rounds of new fluid my problem still happened. Beware that just replacing the fluid may not help as much as you think. I suspect that this is a very widespread issue and some drivers are content to try a few remedies in the hopes that the problem goes away. Big ticket repairs ($600 or so for this one without the extended warranty) like this are hard to swallow or justify if the bandaid fix helps. Certainly I agree that this problem did not occur when the ambient air temp stayed at 80-85 deg. or less. Texas in the summer rarely stays under 90 though. Cooler climes probably suppress the symptoms more than we know at this time. I'm climbing down off the soapbox for now. Best of luck too all the suffer this annoying malady. For now at least I am very happy with the repair that Nissan did. Two Thumbs up for new Master and Slave Clutch cylinder from Me.
I recently had similar problems where the clutch would stick when hot. While replacing the fluid, I noticed the resevoirs had a lot of residue build up. Make sure to clean that tank when doing the flush.
Although the flush solved the sticking problem, I'm stilling getting a soft feel on extremely hot days, much like the op. I dont have ss lines so that would be my next step.

Hi All:
I just wanted to update you all regarding the overall status of the repair. I had the car in to the dealer to replace the Clutch mater and slave cyls. on 6/16/10 or thereabouts. Since then No More Problems have appeared. I live in the Dallas area and for the last 2-3 weeks it's been over 100 Degrees. IMO if you are have the problem i described in the beginning of this thread, I highly recommend getting the CLUTCH Master and Slave checked out for possible replacement. I am very happy that I did.
Best of Luck to all.
