I have a 2003 nissan 350z with just about 83,000 miles on the odometer. I replaced my battery about 4 weeks ago or so and ever since i'm having idle issue during starting the car up. The car will start right up but then almost immediately the rpm's will drop close to zero or slightly above zero.
Some times the car will stutter and then catch itself and go back to normal and other times the engine will just die and i will have to start it once again. The thing is that this does not happen all the time. I would say out of every 10 starts possible only one or two of the starts with have these symptoms.
I did do a search and it seem's as people's z's get older they begin to idle lower than usual. After scanning all of the threads i didn't seem to get any conclusion on what could be the issue. Some people said that the idle could be bumped via tuning, maf or pcv valve. Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this issue.

it's been awhile. I'm pretty sure im overdue. I'll try to clean the maf and i'll see if that helps. Alot of other threads i read they said they cleaned the maf and still had the issue. This is the main reason why i asked before i went and cleaned the maf eventhough i should have already.

When I first installed my intake I had similar problems. I cleaned the MAF with the spray but the engine was still struggling. Turned out the ECU needed to be reset to adjust to the new intake. After the reset it idled just fine.
