Default Prob, with Z, i think.

alright, let me tell everyone whats up with the car.
today, decided to go to wal-mart, then started to hear this random "hissing"
demonstation of sound: hiss, pause, hissss, pause..., hiss, etc.
now it just hisses
idt its an exhaust leak, cause ive never hit my exhaust on anything, and had it professionally installed..

let me tell everyone whats on the car, for it to be easier. ;p
-tein mono flex
-tomei 2-way lsd
-apex exhaust
basically it..other than rims, and intake.

i'll post a pic..its pretty low, but there was no hiss at all till today.
also ive been driving to home and back to college..which is 3hrs, done that for about the past 3 weeks..mightve caused the hissing..idk
any ideas?
thanks

Is that where it's coming from? Underneath the car?

it sounds like it actually, i'll have to check friday. i'll let everyone know.
when sitting in the driver seat, it sounds like its coming from middle to right of the car..if that makes sense..

nah, its at startup and just stays "hissing". i was thinking about the coilovers..but idt coilovers really make a continuous hiss..

I'd say jack up the car and then start it, while you try and see where it's coming from.

My guess is something in the AC system. To test it, turn off the AC/Interior fan completely (to make sure the AC is not engaging) then start the car. If the hiss occurs it can't be the AC, but if it doesn't - turn on the AC and check for the hiss.

Sounds like an exhaust flange. When it gets hot, they contract around the flanges and lets air seep through. Only thing i can think of with what you gave me. Maybe a leak around your intake.

The fuel pumps have been known to make noise. Mine has always made that intermittent hissing. I don't know what causes it but it doesn't seem to be a problem, just another one of those "z thangs." It sounds like its coming from the cubby just behind the passenger seat. I assume the sound changes due to fuel level and rpms.

An exhaust leak will not make a hiss sound, but a fart sound...literally. It's most likely your A/C system. Is your A/C on when you hear the sound? If it is, turn the A/C off and listen for the sound.

its not the a/c cause the a/c was off when it started, i turned the a/c on when i heard it. then off. still made a hissing.

that might be it, but it was pretty random, cause ive had it for about..2 months now, and it just started making that sound. im driving back home friday, i'll let everyone know if it stopped or not. to tell you the truth i cant hear the hissing when im in high rpm, exhaust is way too freakin loud around then.

Exhaust leaks generally don't hiss. Check for the vacuum lines leaking, brake booster included. Also I'm not sure but I think the EVAP canister at the back has a line that could create a hiss.
