HELP!! '03 350z will not start.
it could be a combination of things, your starter could be causing it not to start, and some other electrical gremlin could be causing it to not stay running, only thing i can suggest is find a friend that has one and swap the starter over, just start going through and eliminating things, thats all trouble shooting is is take possible problems and eliminating them till you find the problem, its a *****, but it has to be done

my 2003 350z cut off on me when i was driveing about 2 weeks ago i took it to a shop they are saying it is the alarm an that there is no power geting to the body computer so what should i do i was driving my car all day there is nothing on the dash bord its not the battery help help help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So before I start a new thread I wanted to ask here. I am having a similar problem, but mine is a tad bit different. I was starting from first, and was getting on the car, towards the shift point, around 5500rpm, started loosing power and stalled out and car rolled to a stop. Lights, stereo and everything else works, car has ample battery, gas an everything else. Now for the problem,
When I go to start the car, I can hear it crank, but will not turn over, its as if it is not getting fuel or spark. After reading a lot on the forums, I came to the conclusion that this is possibly due to the Crankshaft Sensor or Camshaft position sensor. I was wondering if anyone had similar issues and which one of these two would be more likely to go. Also are there two or only one Camshaft position sensor?
I have a 2003 base model with 6spd manual, no bells or whistles such as cruise or traction control.
Finally, where is the Camshaft position sensor(s) located as well as the crankshaft position sensor. Please help.

the codes should indicate which sensor.I had these problems with 3 350Zs.
First one will run for a while after clearing codes but fails again.
All sensors were replaced and there has been no issues.
Another on pointed to the cam sensor on the right bank si I pulled a sensor off another car and it still runs fine.
Both cars had the alarm issue.
I disconnected the hood sensor and it stopped.
BTW this hood sensor was dropped for 04 up.
The third looks like a BCM issue that I have not addressed..maybe in 2 months..

i have now become plagued with the same issue.
2003 350z with 82xxx miles on it
6 spd touring
car has a clean bill of health and has been maintained well. absolutely no issues until now.
Recently installed (when i bought the car) is a viper 5701 alarm with remote start. Everytime i set the remote start on the car, and locked the vehicle (shutting it down until i remotely started it, the alarm would go off IMMEDIATELY and disable remote start) i fixed this by setting the sensitivity down low (havent had any issues in 2 weeks) until this morning that is.
i remote start my car, and two seconds later alarm goes off, i think to myself..."damn alarm is at it again" i go out to go to work, insert the key, turn the ignition...and "click click click click click" **gauges flickering at same time**
i still get power to everything and haven't had time to try starting it by rolling it.
judging by previous posts it is either:
1. Cam/crank sensor (previous poster had no results by fixing this)
2. Weak battery (very well could be it, haven't changed battery since car was new off the lot)
3. Battery groundings (doesnt make sense because the car was just fine when i parked it last night, and was sitting all night. also how would a grounding just fall off while not moving for 82xxx miles.
4. crankshaft position sensor was suggested by a couple people but to no avail as well.
5. last but not least is the alarm itself. this very well could be the issue as well. Had it installed by the local Mobile Music Unlimited, they didn't have a wiring diagram for a 2003 and used one from an 08. subsequently they fired off a long list of codes (which disabled my car, limited it to 20 mph, all lights were on) so they paid for them to be cleared at the dealership. (about 7 codes in all were triggered)
I think i am just going to tow it to the dealership. Because it's my daily driver i don't have the time to just let it sit while i "guess" at the issue. Ill let you all know how it goes !!! Probably tomorrow depending on if the tow truck can come out

well, as soon as i got off work today, came home and took out the battery, ran to walmart and got a new. Came home, and half a beer later it was back in the car.....and....... **drum roll** it fired right up
i saw in a previous post voltage being read inside the car had to be above ..10? well it was at 8 before i replaced.
put the new one in went up to about 14 or 15 and car starts up now significantly faster than it did before i replaced it. A ride around the block revealed it had a way better response also
thanks for all the help (posting your problems and potential fixes, without it the car would be at the dealership and a $100 DIY fix would be $200) thanks again!
