Default Intermit. cooling fan issue...

The fans on my 2004 350z are acting weird. The car has near over heated twice now(sitting)..so I took a look at the fans and cant figure it out. I checked all the fuses and relays and they all seem to be working fine. Yesterday I noticed that neither fan would turn on so I turned the AC on and the pass. side fan turned on...then turned off. So I switched plugs and neither worked..then switched them back and neither worked. Today I unplugged the battery let it sit for a few hours and plugged it back in. I turned the car on with the AC and then both fans came on for a few min..I let the car idle for about 20 min with no issues. Then both fans turned off. The temp started to climb a little and then just the pass. side fan turned on again. At that point it didnt matter because the temp was near the top again and I shut it down before the car overheated again. Any ideas on why the fans would work then not work?

Nissan extended the warranty for the fans to about 80k if I recall correctly. Contact your Nissan dealer to see if you qualify... I have a 2004 as well.

I doubt it will be under warranty. Any ideas on possible problems?

Listen to good advice... call them and ask. Whats the worst than can happen? You get your fans replaced under warranty and you save about 700.00? I had my car with 76k mi qualify and its an 04

Im not sure its the fans..they both turn on at first..then both shut down. Is there a control unit that controls them?

I think its part of the assembly... but I'm not 100% sure.
