![Question](https://my350z.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif)
so i bought a 2006 base 350z with 47k miles last month, at the time the clutch felt weird and unpredictable. i assumed i just needed to get used to it. and i did in a couple days. the 2 weeks later i noticed that the clutch pedal would not come up all the way. i had to pull it up about 1/2 to an inch up. but sometimes it would spring back like normal but just for a couple minutes, then it would go back to not coming up all the way. this has made the engagement unpredictable too. i have bled the clutch 3 times now and its not helping
i also checked the slave cylinder its not leaking. do i need to replace the clutch? anything i can try before i do that?
another note: ive launched and driven it hard doping the clutch and it does not slip at all! grabs very strong. so that's why im confused.
BUT ive had 3 drift sessions now, the last one i just lost the drift because the power did not get to the wheels, the motor kept reving but nothing made it to wheels. tried again and same thing. then literally 20 seconds after, i tried a hard strait away and it garbed very strong.
ive owned hondas since i was 16 (im 21 now) and im very knowledgeable on them. but this z has me confused.![Confused](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif)
do i need a new clutch?

I have an 06' with the same issue. I have replaced the clutch line(SS), master, slave, fluid, I have bled the line, wrapped the line with heat wrap, bled the slave....
It only happens with high rpm shifts. The pedal will drop, and after a couple shifts it's back to normal. Clutch holds fine too, I've done burnouts and launches to test it out and all good. I have an aftermarket clutch/fly, (exedy stg 1/fidanza) with like 20k on it so I'm really confused. I might replace the clutch next year again...

its frustrating because it happens so often. makes the drive un-enjoyable
. did you have that issue before you replaced the clutch?
i dont want to buy a new one and continue having the same problem...

Ya it blows.. I only got to track the car 1 time this year because of it.
So in July or so of 09' I had the clutch/fly upgraded. (not worn out)
I did not have the issue in 09'. Then this year I started getting the sinking pedal in hot weather, regular driving, and the pedal would just sink.
So I replaced the line to a SS line, and put in some Motul. The pedal stopped dropping in hot weather, but when I went to the track the problem came back. So I bled the line like 3 times, replaced the master, slave, wrapped the line, bled the slave... Adjusted the clutch pedal. And it wont go away. I also tried reverse bleeding the clutch.
I took the car to SG and Sasha said that if I replace the clutch it will probably fix the issue. But the car drives fine all the time unless I rev it up to 6k, so I dont want to replace the clutch!!!
It has to be either air in the line, or a internal clutch issue. I have also heard that Nissan master/slaves suck *****.

Ya the pedal was adjusted too by Sasha at SG.. He thinks the clutch needs to be replaced, but it doesnt slip!!!! I'm giving up on it for this year, i'll probably grab a clutch from a member when I can over the winter and see if that fixs it..... I really dont want to spend that kind of money but..
