rear differ ?
This is a known problem. I had it fixed by the dealer under warranty, it never came back. Do a few searches here, I did one on "rear ticking" and got a few hits, but there are better descriptions to be found. Here is the comment my dealer made on the service invoice:
"checked and found noise seems to be coming from rt. rear axle splines where axle goes through rt. hub. Removed right lower control arm and axle from knuckle cleaned splines and applied heavy grease; reinstalled all, torqued axle nut."
If your dealer is blaming the tire feathering on you, find another dealer or print this and stick it in their face:
Tech Bulletin
