After new parts car is still overheating..
Hello everyone, My car is overheating, when I take it on the road in about 1 minute the c/h gauge seems to elevate and another minute the car is overheating. I never drive when the temp is all the way up. I took it to a dealership for a diagnostics check and they said leak in radiator and a bent coolant pipe, they bent the pipe back as far as they could. I changed the radiator, (brand new) and put new coolant, and put a brand new thermostat in the car. After all of this work the car is still overheating and there are no leaks! The fans both spin and Im not getting heat in the cabin. Dealer said its not head gasket, so what is left, what can I do? Help please, I really wanna drive my car!
I think I need a new heater core. I did bleed the air out, the hose connected to the radiator that goes to the thermostat is cold and never warms up. I think its heater core.. you guys think so?
Hmmm....
You like buying parts for no reason?
Not having heat does not mean your heater core is bad. It still sounds like your thermostat is not opening and therefore not circulating coolant back to the radiator (hose cold, no heat, overheating motor).

Assuming you have a good working thermostat..
With the motor running and warmed up and heater full on you should bleed the system at the cap at the hose on the side of the engine nearest the battery.

After I put the new thermostat everything is was running GREAT I kinda accelerated reved really high it was fine until the next day then the c/h gauge started acting up again.. and I would only get hot air when I accelerated, now one minute into driving it overheats.. Im in Minnesota and its winter, could the cold weather be a factor? new thermostat? again..
how many new thermostats have you bought? reason i ask is becuase i replace mine w/ an autozone one, and it was garbage. the nissan oem are better. it could be that you still have air aswell. our cars are known to get air in the cooling system...
I will, but before I do that I drove my car about 5 miles today and it didnt overheat. I did add about a liter of coolant.. but i dont get how its off and on like that. Could that possibly be the heater core?? I only get heat when I accelerate and maybe theres more pressure for heat to get through if its clogged.. How can I unclog heater core without taking dash apart..
It can take multiple attempts at bleeding to get all the air out - you can test a thermostat by dropping it into boiling water - if it doesn't open it's bad. It's been years since I had to replace a thermostat but I always test the new one just to be sure, and I have had some bad new ones over the years.
