Very true. BUT YES I am. The reson I posted this was to get others Ideas. IT seemed as it you were implying that a CLT can show leakage of oil rings. In my experience, you cannot. You can remove lower rings, and as long as the top compression ring is good, you will not have high leakdown.

What are you waiting for to just perform the leak down test? It's non-invasive, and quick/easy.

Because you did a compression test instead of a leakdown. If you did the leakdown, then you would hear the hissing from the PCV, dipstick, or oil cap.

I think you are confused with the difference between a compression test and a leak down test. You can have compression in the piston but it won't tell you how much leak you have which in your case already shows in fouled plugs, horrendous smoking, and of course burning oil. Since you still haven't done the leakdown test, you are still second guessing your motor.

In this case referring to pressure in the valve cover is when the engine is running. If the rings were bad, the combustion pressure would push past the rings into the crank case, then in-turn creating pressure in the crankcase outlet. The crankcase outlet, being the PCV valve. With the PCV checkvalve removed, I would have excess presser pumping out of the valve cover. I just haven't had time to perform a CLT. I get up at 5am, in Class by 6am, out my 1pm, work from 2pm-10pm. and no weekends off lol
