Unhappy A Terrible Story(Help?)

Preview:

So today i got . I was parked in front of my friends house. Waiting in the car until he gets home. This guy suprises me as he comes up from the driver side from the rear, and by the time I noticed him in the right side view mirror he was keying my car. AND I WAS IN THE FREAKING CAR! I was so shocked! In my mind I'm screaming, "Did this really f***king happen? DID I JUST SEE THIS S**T!?" He continues walking down the road and in front of me sat a 05 Acura TL. That didn't stop him from digging his keys into it as well. He went right through both our cars and didn't even stop walking. By this time I'm already out my car and diggin in my trunk for a tire iron and a jack stand. So I followed him with a jack stand in one hand and a tire iron in the other about to turn this D-Bag into a pile of steaming s**t! While this was happening I was on the phone with the cops. I told them I was following the dude as he was casually walking down the street as if he was a sly as m*****F**K. But he don't know I was on his ***. This happened around 7 o clock tonight. So it was dark. The cops were telling me, don't follow him he might be armed and you might get hurt. Screw that idea, my car? my cars beautiful silverstone metallic paint just got *** F***ked by some fat cholo. Eff that I ain't allowing this **** to happen! So the cop tells me, don't do anything stupid cause you might get into more trouble. I asked him like what? He says, since its not self defense, you can go get charged for assault for doing that, especially if your stalking him and then trying to hurt him. And then they told me to just wait for the cops. Soon enough the cops rolled by. I stopped following him after he turned the block. So in the end...I GOT MY CAR KEYED! WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE CAR! I just bought this car 2 months ago.

Question:
So here comes the part I need help with, I have full auto insurance covered for my 2006 350z. The key was deep, and extended from the rear bumper, driver side door, and left fender. All the way through. So basically my whole left side of the car has an unwanted hideous pinstrip done by a blind, limbless, parapalegic F**k! So I was wondering, would insurance cover fixing the car by repainting the whole car? Or just by fixing the sides that are damaged? I do have all state insurance. And it is fully covered. I got the police report too. So if they do decide to cover painting the whole car, can I also get a new color for my car? I really like a clean black color, or a nice dark green. The same green you can only find on the Subaru Impreza Ts Edition but only a little darker with some nice shiny bright gold *** rims! I shall have pictures of the car up by tommorow.

bummer....really sucks. I'm not an insurance agent so I would just ask your insurance agency since they can answer all of your personal coverage needs.

Your insurance company will repair the Z, not repaint the entire car.

if they pay to repaint the car, it will only be the affected area. Did the cops catch the pedestrian tool ? if they did then take him to court so he can pay for what he did to your car. Also did you notify the owner of the other car that got keyed ? I'm sure he would appreciate the gesture.

I'm sure the insurance company will be happy to have the damage repaired minus your deductible. If you want to repaint the entire car, you could probably work that out with the body shop handling the repair. Changing the color is considerably more expensive than just repairing the damage.

Wow that sucks, I agree with above, but don't get dark green with gold rims. Then I'll key your car

You're an idiot. Put the dude in the hospital.

Then the police will be able to find him.

Totally justified.

I would have never called the cops and put him in the ground. Then left and called my insurance. Would have been paying the same out of pocket anyway.

A while ago someone attempted a hit and run on me. He got stuck in traffic attempting
to leave the scene. I pulled him by the neck out of the car. We waited for the police together while I sat on him like a gorilla.

I filed assault w a deadly that afternoon. The state charged him w hit and run >$500.
He is still in jail 5 months later unable to post bond.

Insurance paid to fix my passenger door.

Hey thanks to everybody who replied! AND HELL YAH I WAS trying to follow him! After he turned the corner i lost him. I can't beleive this could happen. Well from what i heard, since the damage is pretty deep and done to the whole driver side that includes back bumper all the way to the front bumper...I mean they cant just repaint the bad side and expect everything to look good right? Don't they got to blend the paint to match the rest of the car too? My sister told me that her shop that worked on her 2005 g35 said they could probably change the color for me too. But i wont find out for sure until Monday... I will get pictures up later today. I hurts me to look at my car now. Why would anyone go on a spree and mess up a bunch of cars. They had reports of the guy vandalizing two other cars before mine. So in total he hurt 4 people's cars. It was a random spree and i was the only one who chased him and got information about him. He was a chunky hispanic male. like 250 pounds atleast. I wanted to bash him with my jack stand in the back of the head! Cops told me otherwise... even then i dont think i would of done it anyway...A cars paint or a guy put into a coma. I didnt think it was worth hurting this guy cause he keyed my car major. But dam i sure wanted to bust his kneecaps and curb stomp him

Well it shocked me at first because first it was in a ghetto neighborhood. Secondly I didnt expect it like that. He just came up and when i noticed him he was hella close to my car and already keying it. When this all happened i was stunned! Did this really happen. So i got out of my car and called the cops the moment he turned his back and walked off. I wanted to catch him by suprise. I do regret not doing more like following him till he gets in his house then firebombing his ****. But i felt karma will catch up to me one day if not me then him. I never was in the position to hurt people unless physical harm was done to myself.

Cop told me while i was on the phone that if something did happen to him i was going to be the one to blame. Becasue the cop was on the phone with me while i was stalking him about to make my move. I didn't want to make the situation any worse. I even asked him wouldn't this be self defense and he said no. So after reading all your guys helpful post! I decided to go into my local Sport shop ( big 5's ) and buy myself a nice louieville slugger. and keep that in my car from now on. I admit i guess you can say i pussed out a bit. But it was done in a gang infested neighborhood and i didnt know if he was armed or not. Not trying to get shot or stabbed over a major keying.

At some point in life you'll learn that some **** just isn't going
To fly. I didn't assault the guy. If I'd done nothing he wouldn't
Have his free hotel stay.

All you have to do is restrain yourself and protect your property.

Hitting someone is not the answer.

Let the police deal the blows.
