Alright guys, my Z has been making an unusual sound. Whenever I start the car, the engine revs up to 2k rpms for just a second, as usual but at 2k it makes a whining sound... After it runs for a minute, it goes away. It only does this at 2000-2200 rpms. Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

 

Could be the flywheel chattering. I also have a little whine in 1st gear at that rpm, but when I hit 3k it stops.

 

Do I need a new Flywheel to fix this?

 

No you don't. That's just my speculation of the whining sound. A video would help a bunch. Its normal from what I've researched.

 

Belts? Pulleys? PS pump?

Does the sound vary as RPMs vary?

If you listen under the hood, can you isolate it to a specific area?
