Mine is blinking. I fondled with the ASCD cable over my clutch pedal, and it did something but it came back like in a day. Seems the switch is fawked. I will order a new one from CP.com and hope its that. No codes in my case and I am running stock 18 wheels with factory sizes. My spacers are 20mm front, 25mm rear, but those have never been an issue.

Did any of you guys figure this out? Mine kicks off cruise whenever I turn on my headlights or use the windows. IT's almost like some sort of voltage drop is causing it. What do you guys think?

I recently had my car do this to me. The day before I had it in the dealership getting an oil change. They said they tested the battery and it will need to be replaced soon. Could the cruise control issue be caused by the low voltage issue with the battery?

Default Bumping this old thread to the top

Just experienced this issue for the first time in my '03 Touring Auto. Replaced the crankshaft sensor last week to fix the random turn off's. Not sure if it's correlated or just a coincidence, but now my cruise won't work, and I get a fast flashing "SET" light when trying to set the speed.

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue without getting hit hard by the dealership?

Default 350Z Stock Cruise Control Issues

I have come to this forum many times for help so I thought I should share for once. Over the years of driving my stock 2003 350z manually Transmission, I have had issues with the cruise control not working. Here is what I found and how I fixed it.
1) Cruise would not set.
The Clutch pedal was not returning all the way to the top. You could pull the pedal up with your foot and then set the cruise. I had to spray the Clutch pedal shaft with silicone spray heavily to get the pedal to return. I also found that this can happen when your clutch is old and ready to replace. You can still fix the issue by spraying the pedal joints and shaft with silicone.

2) Cruise would not set
I this happened three time now because the plastic pieces that the contact switches hits that are on the Clutch Pedal and Brake pedal get old, crack and fall out. There are two switches on the clutch pedal and two switches on the brake pedal. These switches sit on these plastic pieces which crack and fall out leaving no place for the switches to set on. There is just a hole where that plastic piece where. I put in a large head slotted screw (Do not use a phillip heads, use a slotted screw) with a nut on the back side to fix this. The screw are about 1/4 and have a large diameter slotted head on them. This fix the cruise issue three different times.

3) Cruise would not set, the SET light flashing. No acceleration. Performance totally gone.
The light is flashing telling you something is wrong and the car does not want to set the cruise. I found that the brake lights were ON all the time when the car was turned off. The problem was the plastic piece for the brake light fell out and the switch never got depressed. I put in my large head screw, the cruise was working and the power and performance was back. This makes sense to me. The computer saw the brakes were on ( not really, the switch was open) so the car would not accelerate very much.

So far, every time I had a cruise issue it came back to these plastic pieces falling out. Of course the Flashing Set light could be other issues but I would start by replacing all four plastic pieces with a screw or something for the switches to contact. I was very upset when the car had no power. I thought it was serious but because the Cruise Set light was flashing I knew I should look at that first and I was right. If you have no power, make sure you do not have a Brake light or Brake issue because the computer will prevent you from accelerating fast to protect the car because the computer thinks the brakes are ON.

I hope this helps someone else. Thank everyone who uses this forum for helping me keep my car running and out of the dealership. One last note, if you have to replace the motor for your power windows, don't be cheap and buy the $60.00 motors, it will only cost you in the long run. After buying 3 cheap window motors which work great at first, I found that the $160.00+ factory replacement motors is the only right way to fix the problem.
Thanks Everyone!
