Can you open the plastic box?

1. Cut tape past the broken part.
2. Place inside box. You can see that the end of the tape is folded for strength.
3. Snap box closed.

The box may be heat-closed. If so than it is not user repairable.

Anyone know a part number or where to find this replacement ribbon? Some dbag tried to steal my stereo and ripped out this cable from the clip. Must be heat sealed cause I can't seem to open the clip.

Not heat sealed. I replaced mine twice because I mess with my console a lot. Take out screws to open. Ribbon held in by a flip up and down lock mechanism . You will understand better once opened

When you cut the cable. How do you reveal the metal connectors under neath the plastic?
