Rattle when clutch is let out
Does anyone elses 08 HR manual z make a rattle when the clutch is let out, almost sounds like a bad through out bearing but the dealer ship begs to differ that its normal! Thanks in advance for any input!
i also thought something was wrong with my 08 base when i first got it. after reasearching it here i found the answer. it has been attributed to the dual mass flywheel if im not mistaken. its been awhile since i looked it up. all though mine didn't rattle it was more of a whine.
totally normal. Its just the sound of the gear box. ( due to flywheel dampening ineffectiveness, yes).
buy a lightweight flywheel and see what THATS like. haha.
ten x worse.

Lol I've had the tranny replaced 3 times under warrantee and I've only had the thing for a year, only put 12,000 miles on it, I'm ready to sell it back to the damn dealership, like really 3 trannys in a year doesn't seem right to me lol idk I'm at the dealership now again, I guess well see what heppens!
All the MT 350Zs I drove before buying did that. While it turns out the rattle isn't really a problem, it did reinforce my inclination to go with the automatic. I'm SOOOO glad I did that after reading about all the problems people are having with the transmission and clutches.

the only replacement trannies ( pardon sir, do you have a spare he/she? Mine seems to run off. ) haha are usually from notchy synchro issues.
If they are actually replacing it for the "throwout bearing sound" youre getting free trnas for no reasons.
Look up light weight flywheel and chatter..
its the NORMAL sound our cars gear case actually makes.. its perfectly normal, nothings broken, nothing is wearing faster.
MT cars lose far less between crank to wheels than the 5AT. my clutch was just replaced at 99k miles and still had a good 20 k left on it after inspecting it.
Proper maintenance and driving habits create a very reliable vehicle w the 350z.
