Yes. I haven't decided which one I'm going with yet. I have to do some research on which ones hold up the best, but I will say that I really like the burgundy color one. I have a 7 year old son so I'll probably deal with taking the old one off first and then making sure the frame and everything else is perfect. Finally getting the new one on and sending the z off to soho motorsports in NC to get my airlift 3p bag suspension and full suspension rebuild since I've had the airlift kit for like 3 months now and haven't been able to send the z off because my gfs transmission broke down. Then she started driving my 2016 camry which is like my daily family reliable car. All this has sucked real bad but now that her car is done I can send mine off. I pick up my kid from school so all that stuff was rough for a bit. She's an awesome girl though. She's paying me back the 3800 for the Trans rebuild on her car since she didn't have the money to get it done. I met her 2 years ago, my sons real mom died from a brain aneurysm at 25 2 years ago as well. Thankfully the new gf doesn't have any kids and loves mine like he's her own because I could not handle anymore children. Lol they're not bad. I'm just 29 years old and I want to live my life by the time I'm in my 50's. Life is weird.
Just for the future (and since nobody seems to scroll up to my posts and see all the pictures are posted in #144, lol), I've copied and pasted the original post with the original pictures. Enjoy!
Good job fella, been a while since I revisited the forum. Thanks for re-posting the pics. I try to check in at least once or twice a year on the forum. But it looks like it's still helping people. Thanks for re-sharing!
Sorry it's taken a while to see this. I'll take a look and see if the brushes were still in my Amazon history. I doubt it. But... If I recall correctly they were from and RC car motor.
Yes, BlueBadge is a VERY cool dude. My wife has contacted this mrauto407 dude on Ebay. As he didn't seek permission to use these photos for profit.
Hopefully he takes them down. No one has permission to use these photos for profit. I originally posted them so people could do this themselves for cheap!

Yeah man. I think it's still helping people looking for a DIY solution, but everyone seems to start crying when they don't see the pictures in your first post.
Perhaps you would be so kind to everyone who comes across this thread in the future and edit your original post #1 with the pictures from either post #144 or #241?
Hey bluebadge! I hope there's a way I can contact you and ask you something. While I was working on the top I found something strange. It's hard to describe in words. I need to go take a picture I suppose. Will you be checking back on here?
brushes for Convertible (and perhaps window) motors
Hi
Does anyone know where to buy the brushes (and perhaps outside the USA)
greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=MMRC3080, they have no stock, and also nothing on Ebay, or with google.
Here are the dimensions from above post
: A tiny update on 5th bow motor brushes dimensions: 8-10 is approximated length of the new brush, I installed 10mm and it barely fitted: the spring could barely reach the end. Of the brush. Also to note that the material is not a regular graphite, rather some mix with copper or some other metal.
hello, just bought a 2004 350z convertible, previous owner removed the 5th bow motor. I'm trying to find pictures on hown to install a new one. The pics on the thread arent showing up probably because the thread is so old. Cant find a good video or pictures anywhere.
ps; its 2025 now

So I figured out the bolts and screws. Got it installed. When I push the open button, the windows go down but nothing else happens. I checked the voltage going to the 5th bow motor and it’s zero volts, no power.
any help would be appreciated
I don't know much about the roadster tops, but the 1st place I would look if you have no power is at the fuses and relays. If the motor was missing, they may also have pulled out the fuse(s) and/or relay.
Good Luck!
