I think in the end we have a car with "character". I don't think any of the flaws are so bad that I would change. How many times does any other car get in front of you at the lights? Beating Porsches gives me a warm glow for the day....

Mine too, glad I am not crazy! Better than the rattle my old S10 5th gear used to make, like someone threw sand in the gearbox.

"Sorry officer, you see I was going 90 because at 80 my car... oh, thats not a good excuse, never mind"

Man oh Man am I sick of that noise. I am planning on getting the dealer to look into it for me. It's just too loud. I don't mond engine noise or even wind noise but tranny noise freaks me out and is just plain annoying. Oh yeah, I have a 2003 base model with about 15,000 miles.

I have the same exact whining noise...70 to 80 mph. Only when I barely touch accelerator to maintain speed. Goes away when coasting or accelerating.

Does anybody know if there is a fix (or even something to make it less dramatic) please help...

Same thing here... friend mentioned it was probably the diff but what archman says makes sense to me. It's like a high-pitched whistle type of noise I believe?

Default Glad to hear its not just me...

I've had my 06 Z for about 10 months now. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue, and its really my only complaint. I always figured it was a design issue, since it becomes noticeable at 78-79 mph.
