Default Hi, new here looking for help.

Hi all,
I was hoping you guys and girls here might give me a hand. My friend blew his engine in his Z. It's the newer HR series of the VQ35 engine. My questions are am I able to use the engine out of the g37 and not worry about different harness connectors? Do different years of the HR have different harnesses or did they stay the same throughout the production years? Do you have any engine pulling tips regarding this motor? Thanks for all the help.

Well the G37 has a different motor. VQ37VHR as opposed to the 350Z's VQ35HR.. so it will not be easy, though probably possible.

The only cars that came with the VQ35HR are the 2007-2008 Nissan 350Z and the face-lifted G35 sedans (2007+ I think).

Gotcha, I'll look into that. Now he asking me about an LS2 swap. I've seen in on lots of 240's but the only swaps I'm aware on the Z is the RB26 and the VQ V8 swap. Still lots of things there to consider if he wants to go with the LS swap. (cooling, trans, shifter, tuning, etc) Has anyone here done a LS swap? Sorry for the questions, but thank you for the answers.

as far as i know the vq37 is the same except for the heads and of course the displacement due to a longer stroke. only hard part would be getting the VVEL to work i guess but idk, im sure getting a vq37vhr with the complete harness it shouldnt be toooo hard to swap.

LS2 swap: https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...is-in-ls2.html

Why is your friend asking you to sign up on a forum to ask questions instead of doing it himself? Did you blow your engine and don't want to admit it so you created "your friend?"

P.S. going to part out your engine?
