Default Cheap $7.00 Dupli-Color Fix for scrapes

Hello,

Just thought I'd share. Not sure if this is old news. I went in Saturday morning to buy Fabreeze. I saw Dupli-Color Paint match on my way to the register and thought I'd try it. The cap looked close to the silverstone color so I picked it up. I was super satisfied with the results. Feels like spray paint so I wouldn't recommend it on body panels. But for scrapes to the lower front bumper and maybe mud guards I would recommend it all day.

Dupli-Color "Perfect Match"
BNS0604 Precision Gray (W40)
Barcode: 0 26916 84507 8

Nice, did you sand it down first or just taped it and started spraying. Can you tell in person that you painted it.

Go here for exact color-matched paint in aerosol cans. They'll even match a sample if you send a piece to them. When I was restoring my '74 Alfa Spider I sent them several pieces from the engine bay, and not only were they able to match the colors, but also the exact sheen and texture.

When I first had my lip painted, my friend laid down a lot of paint. So up close you can see a texture of where the paint had chipped off. If I took a little bit more time to sand it smooth. The results would have came out a lot better. But I couldn't be happier with the results from that Dupli-Color spray can.

My first inital spray was runny. I guess its because the surface was too smooth. Luckily I had some sand paper, so yes I did like 1 minute of quick sanding just for the paint to grab on. After that with 8-12 inch distance of spraying, it worked perfectly.

I could only tell that it was painted because of the thickness of the original paint and by touching it. If I sanded down where the paint was chipping I doubt anyone could tell until they touch it.

Because its the front lip I know sooner or later its going to get damaged again. So I think this is the best solution when it comes to front bumpers and front lips.

The G35 bumper that was scratched was lightly sanded just to get get little hanging debri off.

After the spray job my cousin with the G35 and I couldn't stop smiling. The results for the price can't be beat.

On the cap it said W40. But I'll post the sku and barcode when I get home. But anyone owning silverstone will recognize the cap. I also saw white and what looked to match chrome silver.

Thanks for all the compliments! Just let me know if you guys need anymore details. If your in the 626 and in need of a touch up you're more than welcome to use it. FYI i won't be spraying your car for you tho. I'm much to paranoid spraying anyones car other than my own.

Not bad. You should blend the area alittle more so it will be seamless but good job

Yea you can the texture from the old paint. I didn't have faith in the color at first. But after trying it out, I might put some extra elbow grease this weekend and do some additional sanding and respray.
