Running Lean ??
Just got my air/fuel wideband gauge installed yesterday and i'm concerned about the readings ...
At idle its reaching 15.7-15.9
When i drive under normal conditions its 14.5
when i floor it its reading on the rich side 11.5-12.8
my performance mods as it stands, Pulleys, Exhaust, High flow cats, short ram intake, plenum spacer.
are these numbers normal for our cars for the mods ?
how can i correct the leanness ?
Should i got with an tune to correct the air/fuel fixture ?
Expert opinions needed please ....

ill ask this becuase others who will have more technical experience will want to know, where did you tap your O2 sensor at? Factory sensor? left side? Right side?
Also i just re read, yes, with all that breathing stuff on your car and no tune, your cars airfuel is just as you can see.. a touch to the high.
are these numbers normal for our cars for the mods ? they are just slightly hi for an NA car. Very hi for a turbo, which you are not.
how can i correct the leanness ? get a tune.
Should i got with an tune to correct the air/fuel fixture ?see above.
A tune is ABSOLUTLEY necessary, and i bet you your car doesnt feel much faster at all really.. does it? Cmon, you can be honest here.
Throw a Cobb AP or OSiris or hell, even an old Technosquare reflash at it and youl be golden. PLus your timing will be t#ts then too.
Basically your parts are fairly worthless with out a tune, and worse than that, as you can see, they are actually detrimental.
Good news? Get a tune and your car will immediatley be a demon.. best cash you will ever spend, i sh$t you not.

ah, its still a bit on the larger side of the numbers than my NA ran w a tune... its not too bad, but i bet theres spikes all over the place tho OP.. its not just those numbers, its how linear they are as well.
Bottom line is what your worried about and what you SHOULD be worried about are if you should get a tune, and the answer is yes.
Thers far more to it than your AF, i assume youre aware as most ppl w a WB AFR know what they are dealing w.

Ok first things first, the 02 is tapped on the left hand side into the HFC.
secondly i checked and it seemed like i have a vacume leak as i'm missing the cap that goes over the plenum nipple. After placing an electrical tape over the nipple for a seal i noticed my numbers droped to 14.2 - 14.5 at idle which is infact alot better than 15.7-15.9. As a test i removed the tape once again and the numbers spiked high so that is one factor.

Also where can i get the cap that goes over this nipple ?

piggy backing on this one. if you do decide to get a tune i think my question may help. I have roughly the same mods, and it doesn't seem like my stock ecu can keep up with them any longer. if I reset my ecu my car feels great for about a week, then it starts getting sluggish.
so what are the options for a tune? are we looking at $500 minimum?

YES. i like the Cobb for NA as you dont have to pay anyone to tune it, its roughyl good for the most part, and its fast w no ECU ship out.
They are hard to find for DEs tho.
Otherwise youre looking at around 700 on the low side to do osiris and to get a tuner to tune it for you.
The reaility is that without it, you are fooling yourself into thinking your bolts ons ahve done anything.... sounds like to realize that already. Car runs good, then it lags, feels flat, just feels slow.
Get a tune, get back your snap and your torque. Period.
Like i said, best cash you will ever spend.
