Help! clogged cat? or fuel pressure is not moving
Hello,
I have been trouble this problem for a while, and could not really find out.
Basic synthom is the car is in limp mode, and it wont pass 4k rpm.
Idle is just fine!
when I drive on highway, the engine ligth is keep blicking!
Checked list.
PCV valve,
no vacume leak,
spark plug
Today, I checked the fuel pressure it won't move.
it just stay around 52.
What is this problem..
clogged cat? or
fuel filter?
fuel pump?
...any comment?
thanks

first of all what year? miles? any mods? ok so it missfires past 4k? when free reving or under load? if u had it at the dealership they should have a cat test procedure with their scan tool , if they run too hot then theyre clogged and need to be replaced , emission warranty should cover it.

well first you have to figure out what is causing multiple misfires - plugs, coils, intake leak, dirty of damaged MAF etc.
second, fuel pressure isn't supposed to move, it stays constant as it's a returnless system on an NA car and I assume you have a stock fuel pump

yes! it has been lowered by spring, intake, clutch,
Can i use emission warranty with these mods on it?

new plugs on it.
checked coil,
checked intake leak,
new maf sensor.
But....cannot figure out it.
I might put test pipe that just see if that is my problem.
so, you think its not a fuel pump or fuel filter problem..?
im thinking to getthing either berk test pipe or z1 test pipe.
any recommendation?
How did this end up turning out? I have an 03 with pretty much an identical issue, With 120k miles/190k kms. I’ve done the sparks, the maf is fine but hoping to avoid taking the cats off because it’s a massive pain. Thanks in advance
